I had a thought at church today. It gave me a better appreciation for Christ.

When I was single I remembered that I feeling lonely is not a pleasant
feeling. Wanting to be heard and interact with other humans is a
natural desire. Many not all singles or people who travel alot
face being lonely. How do people deal with it? In my case,
the Lord was gracious enough to bring a wonderful godly woman in my
life. And now we have been happily married for almost two and
half years. I am still in bliss and I madly in love with my wife.

Anyway I realized in church today that Christ was probably felt most
lonely when he was on calvary. Rejected by mankind. There are
various people who are presently rejected by the human race. Some
come to mind are: Adolf Hilter, Stalin, child molestors, rapists,
murders, etc., etc. In each of the people I mentioned above, they
deserved it. Hilter killed 6 million jews and Stalin killed alot
of Russians with his purges.

So what am I getting at? Christ was, is and will always be the
purest human ever existed. Nevertheless He was rejected by
mankind . He was also rejected by His Father in heaven. Talk
about being rejected by everyone for not doing anything. Well He
did it for you and me. He took our sins on the cross and paid the
price.

I don't think I would ever felt as lonely as Christ did because I was
never rejected by everyone and God. Just thinking of how lonely
Christ felt on the cross gives me the shrivers. I am just
thankful for His Love towards me.

Are you thankful for Christ and what He did on the cross for us?

<b ="">

learnt a valuable lesson today from my wife who in-turn learnt it from
her brother today. The lesson is that we be thankful for
everthing and to thank God for it. I am quite guilty of it. I
feel down when things don't go right but even in that Christ has a
purpose.

I like what
Paul writes in Romans 1: 7-9. He says he is thankful in Christ
for the saints' faith. Now that is something. Someone thanking God for
your faith. What does faith mean? According to Hebrews 11: 1,
"...faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen." I too have thanked God when I have met faithful
men.
A faithful man is someone who lives a life where God is a
reality. You could feel God's presence and the person's hope is
not a hope but reality. Where people can be spiritually
encouraged by knowing this person. Hopefully there are people who are
thanking God for your and my faith in Christ. If not then let us
rededicate our lives to Him.

Well I must say that it is been awhile since I have written an
entry. Well I have been in Romans for the last three months and I am
constantly fascinated by the book. There is so much information and
truth packed in such a little book. It reminds me of a
seed. It is small but it has some much power from which a plant
or tree sprouts out. Romans is good for people who would are in
the "seed" like phase of their spirtual life. It is neat!

Anyway let's start off by looking at this neat book. Romans is a
letter to the saints at the Church at Rome. So what does a letter need to
have? A sender's address
or a place where this letter is
originating from. In the book of Romans, the letter originates
from Paul. In the verses one to six in the first chapter of
Romans, Paul describes himself.<table style="width: 367px; height: 127px;" ="" border="2" bordercolor="red" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1">

Author's Name:

Paul

Author's Title:

1)A bondservant of Jesus Christ
2)called to be an apostle
3)separated to the gospel of God

In verse three he describes...
Gospel of God

God promised through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures concerning His Son Jesus Christ
His Son Jesus Christ

born of the seed of David according to the flesh

declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead

Through Christ

we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His [Jesus] name

Paul writes to the audience who are fellow believers like him.

What does this all mean? Well Romans 1: 1 - 6 gives us an insight
on how Paul perceived himself and what he strived for. A
bondservant, an apostle of Christ and separated to the gospel of
Christ. Then he defines what the gospel of Christ. After
reading that passage, shouldn't we constantly separate ourselves to the
gospel of Christ. Easy to say and write but not easy to live it
in its fullest form. Let's strive to be like Paul.

Pilate's four questions to Christ are:

Are You the King of the Jews?

Am I a Jew?

What have You done?

Are You a king then?

Pilate asks these questions when Christ was brought to him to be judged. Pilate wanted to know whether Christ was indeed a King of the Jews and a threat to Cesar. If we were to only focus on the questions which were asked by Pilate, we see a hidden gem. The hidden gem is that every non-believer asks these questions about Christ.

Are You the King of the Jews?

When a non-believer hears about Christ. They know He is a gentle and loving man and a Jew. When a non-believer studies a little more about Christ, they think that Christ is a Jewish God. He died for the Jews and not for everyone else.

Am I a Jew?

Jews in God's eyes are a special race since He chose them. Ideally Jews should be pure and holy, but like every man on Earth (except Christ since He is sinless), Jews, in reality, are equally wicked. Therefore a non-believer will realize and question that he too is a sinner.

What have You done?

After a non-believer realizes that he is a sinner, he will question on exactly how he should resolve the issue of being sin free. The answer is that Christ died on the cross for everyone's sin. So when the non-believer realizes that Christ paid a huge price for our sins, his next question will be:

Are You a king then?

The answer to the question is, "Yes". Christ is the King of Kings since He is Son of God and Savior of our souls. The next question is that if Christ is the King then are we all going to follow Him and glorify Him? Hopefully the answer to the question is, "Yes".

Friday, May 21, 2004

The Slap! - John 18: 19-24

From Verse 24: I wonder how the officer, who struck Christ, felt after he realized that he struck Christ. Did he feel worse than Paul after Paul was involved in killing Stephen or did he feel worse than the Roman soldiers who crucified Christ our God.

Afterall Christ did not say anything malicious to Annas but simply stated the truth. If the officier knew that Christ was telling the truth, why did he strike him? Was it a sense of duty to the high priest? Was it simply rage or mere frustration? The answer is that Christ allowed that to happen because He and His Father loved us.
